In 1988, Scott began working with Knight Frank's Valuation and Agency branch in Hobart. Following his time in London, Scott returned to Knight Frank as a Commercial Consultant in 1990. Scott became a founding director of Brothers and Newton – Independent Valuers, Tasmania's largest valuation business, in 1994. Following a merger of the two businesses, Scott rejoined Knight Frank in 2009. Over the last 15 years, Scott has advised many engineers and financial backers on the practicalities, acquisitions, and venture opportunities, as well as completing complicated valuation commitments for both public and private sector clients. Scott is a former member of the Option National Valuers and Property Counselors public board. Scott has stepped in as the Australian Property Institute's state president (API).
