High-Profile Opportunity to Revitalise Central Dandenong - $290 million State Government commitment

The Victorian Government are reaching out to prospective partners to deliver a vibrant mixed-use precinct across a 1.9ha* development site in central Dandenong.

The Revitalising Central Dandenong project (RCD) represents a $290 million commitment from the Victorian Government to transform central Dandenong into a thriving service and economic hub.

Development Victoria, in conjunction with Colliers International, is pleased to invite Expressions of Interest (EOI) from developers (or consortia) until 4pm Monday 5 August 2019. This marks the first stage of a three-stage transaction process. Upon conclusion, Development Victoria will enter into a Development Agreement with the successful developer (or consortia), to deliver this unique proposition.

“The scope for what is possible here is significant – large scale commercial, residential and retail developments, inclusive of public amenity, will be brought to life in a partnership formed by the state government and the private sector,” selling agent Hamish Burgess noted.

“This is truly a remarkable opportunity for developers to ‘leave their mark’ in a considerable way.”

The 1.9 hectare development property encompasses five parcels of land centrally located in Dandenong. The site offers direct access to public transport and major arterial roads, which lead to Melbourne’s CBD approximately 35km away.

“Central Dandenong currently accommodates over 17,000 workers across major office, retail, education, health and community facilities. Needless to say, this project is set to have a vast impact.” Colliers International agent Robert Papaleo commented.

“Plans could potentially incorporate a mix of commercial office, retail, conference and function facilities, educational facilities, student accommodation, health / medical facilities, residential dwellings, entertainment and car parking – the arrangements, configurations and opportunities are seemingly endless.”

Summary:

  • Total landholding of 1.9 hectares*
  • Land owned by Development Victoria
  • Planning Framework: Comprehensive Development Zone – Schedule 2 allowing for large scale commercial, residential and retail developments.
  • NOTE: The site currently accommodates the Little India Precinct, which is Melbourne’s longest standing cluster of Indian culture and commerce. The Victorian Government seeks to deliver an enhanced Indian retail and cultural hub at the site
