London & Singapore: Leading global real estate adviser, Knight Frank, has appointed Tim Armstrong as Global Head of Occupier Strategy and Solutions.
Based in Singapore, Tim assumes his new role with immediate effect, taking over from William Beardmore-Gray, as he moves into his new role as Senior Partner and Group Chair in April 2022.
Having joined Knight Frank in Australia in 2007, Tim brings over 20 years of experience in transaction management and advisory, working with occupier and landlord clients across both the office and industrial sectors.
Over the past three years, the team has more than doubled the size of the real estate portfolios it manages on behalf of clients. To support this growth, Tim has expanded the scope and capability of the Global Portfolio Solutions business in line with growing demand for real estate outsourcing from corporate clients.
In addition, the firm has secured a number of key senior hires this year including Dan Whitmore, Head of Global Portfolio Solutions for Asia Pacific, Guillaume Raquillet, Head of Occupier Strategy and Solutions in France and Andrew Love, Head of Occupier Strategy and Solutions and Capital Markets in the Middle East.
Tim’s appointment follows the firm’s announcement of its new US partner, Cresa. Knight Frank and Cresa have partnered their Global Portfolio Solutions businesses, placing significant investment in bespoke technology and research capabilities to provide innovative occupier solutions. Together they offer an integrated platform of services directed at corporate end users, providing a truly global solution for occupier clients.
Tim Armstrong, Global Head of Occupier Strategy and Solutions, said: “I’m delighted to have been appointed to lead Knight Frank’s global Occupier Strategy and Solutions team and build on the legacy of William Beardmore-Gray. Whilst the past 18 months have seen seismic changes to the world of work and the way we conduct business, we continue to provide our occupier and landlord clients with first-class advice and bespoke solutions that keep them one step ahead of today’s rapidly evolving landscape.
“Our clients are becoming ever more global and our team, which values partnership and fosters collaboration, is responding accordingly. With Cresa as our partner in North America linking to our strong occupier platforms in EMEA and APAC, Knight Frank is well-positioned to deliver comprehensive global solutions, aligned with our clients’ needs and ambitions.”
Alistair Elliott, Senior Partner and Group Chairman at Knight Frank, added: “Tim is extremely well-placed to lead our global occupier business, growing the offer and expertise we deliver to our diverse range of clients. Under his leadership, the APAC team has significantly advanced, winning global mandates and recruiting top talent. Tim’s leadership from Singapore reflects the strategic intent of our business to expand our operations across the region and future-proof our firm with key roles based outside of the UK.
“During Will’s tenure in charge of Occupier Strategy and Solutions, we have seen a substantial shift in productive collaboration and accounts won. We are very grateful to him for all he has done.”
